THE FIRST IN LAST OUT
FINE ALE, FINE FOOD, FINE COMPANY
The bar area is both light and airy in the summer and warm and snug during the winter months. Customers have the choice of sitting at the bar or occupying one of the booths. In the winter season the now famous fireplace roars into action, offering both warmth and that special atmosphere for the colder months.
The pub does not have a jukebox or any fruit machines (hurrah). It does however offer intelligent conversation and witty banter (on a good day!). There are playing cards and backgammon available. The landlord will be only to happy to take on all comers at the latter.
There is a conservatory (out'ouse as Mike calls it) at the rear of the bar offering panoramic views of the Old Town and the East Hill. This room is used both in the summer and winter, is an ideal area for private functions and can be booked in advance with the option of food if required. To book, please use the email address at the bottom of the page. Children are welcome in the dining room until early evening. The bar is open from noon until 11.30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from noon until 11pm on Sundays.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the pub. Ask at bar for details.
